Usa President Donald Trump fears alcoholism after death of brother Freddy Trump

Mountain View Why does President-elect Donald Trump fear becoming an alcoholic? Trump opened up about the loss of his younger brother, Freddy Jr., to alcoholism in 1981 President-elect Donald Trump has admitted he fears succumbing to alcoholism in a wide-ranging Fox News interview with Harvey Levin, founder of celebrity gossip website, TMZ. The business mogul invited cameras into the lavish offices of Trump Tower, his main residence in New York city, as he discussed key incidents that have shaped his life and reflected upon the challenge of the presidency. Levin described Trump as "candid and emotional" as he opened up about the loss of his younger brother, Freddy Jr., to alcoholism in 1981. However, revealing a more personal side than displayed during his braggadocious campaigning, the 70-year-old told the hour- long special that he still fears the genetic ties to substance abuse could ruin his own life – particularly given the strains of the presidency. "The nice part is if you don't drink you don't have to worry about it," he said. "I do have a personality that you'd carry me out of this room one day, you never know," he said. Donald Trump Jr. was said to have enjoyed a drink When pressed further, he continued: "You don't know, you think you just drink a bit, in moderation, but if you have the gene I don't know if you can." He added that given the family history and stern warnings toward drugs he had instilled in his children, he had been "surprised" that his eldest son, 38-year-old Donald Trump Jr., had previously let himself "brush" with a partying lifestyle involving heavy drinking. Trump also discussed how his prominence on television as the face of the business based reality show The Apprentice had helped him connect with voters. In showbusiness and in politics "you have to be yourself," claimed the billionaire, speaking before his surprise, unanimous victory against Hillary Clinton on 9 November. Seized $15m: Patience seeks N200m damages

Mountain View

A Federal High Court in Lagos has fixed December 7, 2016 to hear the N200m fundamental rights enforcement suit filed by wife of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan,
Patience, against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and Skye Bank Plc to challenge the freezing of four bank accounts containing $15m.

The EFCC placed a ‘No Debit Order’ on the four accounts opened in the name of four companies which were linked to a former Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to ex-President Jonathan, Waripamo-Owei Dudafa.
The EFCC froze the four bank accounts on July 7, 2016 in the course of investigating Dudafa for money laundering.

But Patience had sued the EFCC and Skye Bank claiming the ownership of the $15m found in the four bank accounts.
The matter came up for the first time before Justice Babs Kuewumi on Wednesday.
At the hearing, Patience’s lawyer, Mr. Granville Abibo (SAN), applied to discontinue the earlier motion filed by his client for the purpose of amending it.

Justice Kuewumi granted the application and struck out the motion.
Abibo then informed the court that he had filed and served a new motion on the defendants.
But the EFCC lawyer, Rotimi Oyedepo, said the suit was not ripe for hearing.
Abibo then urged the court to restrain the EFCC from tampering with the $15m in the frozen accounts pending the determination of the suit.
He said despite being served with court processes, the EFCC was still making moves that could overreach the court.
But Oyedepo urged the court to
discountenance Abibo’s submission, saying that the accounts had long been frozen
before Patience filed the suit and so the issue of interference with the accounts did not arise.
After listening to the parties, Justice Kuewumi adjourned till December 7, 2016 for the hearing of the case.
Patience is urging the court to compel the EFCC to immediately remove the ‘No Debit Order’ placed on the four bank accounts in question.
She also wants the court to order Skye Bank to pay her damages in the sum of N200m for what she termed a violation of her right
to own personal property under Section 44 of the 1999 Constitution.
Filed in support of the suit was an affidavit deposed to by one Sammie Somiari.
Somiari said it was Dudafa who helped Patience to open the four bank accounts which the EFCC froze.
According to him, Dudafa had on March 22, 2010 brought two Skye Bank officers, Demola Bolodeoku and Dipo Oshodi, to meet Patience at home to open five accounts.
He, however, claimed that after the five accounts were opened, Patience later discovered that Dudafa opened only one of
the accounts in her name while the other four were opened in the names of companies belonging to Dudafa.
The four companies, whose accounts have now been frozen and which have also been
charged with money laundering along with Dudafa,

On the second occasion, it was one man called Baba Ijebu that molested me. I had been sent to his house to collect an item. “While in his house, he raped me. I cried, but he said I would die if I told anyone. The third man was Henry (Osadere). I don’t want to talk about it again.” Forty-three-year-old Osadere, however, denied raping Ijeoma, saying she was a wayward girl. He said, “She came to my place and said she had many boyfriends. I asked how a teenager like her had several boyfriends. . Anytime she came to my apartment, she would steal some items. That was why I sent her away. “I was surprised that she said I was one of those who raped her. She said she had a three-month-old pregnancy. I don’t know the other suspects. The girl lied against me. She knows the people who messed around with her. It was because I stopped her from coming to my house that she lied against me.” Oke, 30, a welder, said, “I have known the girl since 2014. The Anambra state governor, Willie Obiano, on Monday, September 19, said if the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is given a chance, a bag of rice will cost only N9000. Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state has said that the cost of living for Nigerians would be drastically reduced if APGA is given a chance, come 2019. Obiano hinted that APGA has prepared its house, and would field a presidential candidate in the 2019 general election. The governor, who is also the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the party, said if voted into power, an APGA national government would drastically reduce the cost of a living in Nigeria. The Punch reports that, Obiano stated this in Awka, the Anambra state capital, during the inauguration of ‘Governor Willie Obiano Support Group’, Awka South Chapter. Represented by his special adviser on Political Matters, Mr. Chinedu Obidigwe, Obiano said APGA would want to prove to Nigerians that the party had the solution to the country’s woes. He never returned.
This is not the first incident of this nature in Africa. At Ibadan zoo in south-west Nigeria,
a self-proclaimed prophet claimed to be able to do what the Daniel of the bible did by walking into a den full of lions. Though he was warned numerous times by zoo keepers, the prophet thought of them as nothing more than enemies of progress.

The prophet, with a crowd of people watching, put on a long red robe and proceeded to enter the cage full of lions.
HE was ripped apart from flesh to bone within seconds of entrance into the lions’ den.

A fire on Friday razed a police barracks in Nigeria’s largest city and commercial hub, injuring one person and once again exposing the abysmal living conditions in the megalopolis of 20 million.

“It took the fire service more than one hour before they responded to our distress call,”
Inspector Mike, a resident of the Ijeh police barrack told AFP.

“By the time they came, the fire has reduced everything into a rubble. That’s why we drove the fire fighters away,” he said.
“You can see that all the 24 flats have been completely burnt. We could not salvage anything,” Martina Undie, another resident
said.
Undie said a man who was sleeping at the time of the incident “got some serious burns on his body” and was in hospital.
Charred household items including stoves, fridges, and television sets littered the area.

Accommodation is just one of the many problems dogging police in Nigeria.

Many public service workers have not been paid on time due to a crash in oil prices.

Five ways to protect mobile phones from thieves

Mountain
View

With almost €3m worth of mobile phones stolen over the last 14 months, according to newly released Garda figures, here are five ways to protect your device from thieves:

Don’t have it on show

It seems an obvious piece of advice to give, but Garda has reiterated that many phones are stolen simply because they are easy to Don’t leave phones on tables in restaurants, pubs or nightclubs, attended or otherwise,
and never leave them visibly exposed in a parked vehicle.
Use them at your peril on busy thoroughfares where opportunistic thefts are most likely to happen, and ideally they
should only be operated with your back against a wall or shop window to prevent snatching from behind.

When you are on the bus or train, don’t use them in an exposed position where would- be thieves can make a quick escape through
a door or exit at stops.

Know your IMEI number

Two out of three people who report mobile phone robberies don’t know their phone’s unique identifier number, which can be
used to trace the model back to its owner and can help secure a conviction if the thief is caught.

For Android users, it can be found inside the battery compartment, and iPhones have it on the slide-out tray or on the back of the
phone.

You can also dial *#06# and the IMEI number will appear on your phone’s screen.
Save it and send it to yourself for future reference.
You can remotely block access to your phone by calling the manufacturer with its IMEI number and telling them it’s been stolen.
Back up to the cloud Numbers, pictures, videos, documents and much can be remotely saved to protected data repositories such as iCloud, Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive.
Once a linkage is established, most modern models offer the opportunity to save all phone data to a cloud-based storage system periodically.

If you’re terrified of the prospect of losing anything on your phone,
this offers peace of mind in case of theft.

Install a phone tracker
There are literally hundreds of apps that offer the facility of tracking your phone once you realise it has been lost. Log into your account from another device and the apps utilise the phone’s built-in GPS function to relay its last known location.
This is subject to a few caveats, however.
Most apps stop tracking the phone once it has been turned off, and people are not advised to confront others who they may suspect of stealing the phone based on its
apparent location. Tracking technology is not infallible.

This is usually a good option to pursue if you feel you may have left the phone behind somewhere.
Go hands free Hands free earphones limit the amount of contact you make with your phone outside your pocket, thereby minimising the risk of robbers doing a snatch-and-run in a busy public place.
Keep your pockets zipped and be wary of your person and surroundings in crowded areas such as airports.

Naira may hit 500 per dollar – Obiano

Mountain
View The Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, has said that the naira will continue to fall against the dollar till it reach N500 to the greenback. Obiano said this during the commencement of the Anambra State Fire and Safety Summit in Awka on Wednesday. The governor, who expressed fear that the dollar would continue to rise against the naira, said it would take no fewer than 18 months for the economic downturn in the country to subside. He said, “People should embrace risk management. That is the solution to disaster, especially in a recession. “No recession lasts less than 18 months, so we need to wake up. The naira is moving to N500 per dollar. “We need to secure our certificates and other valuables of ours so that nothing will happen to them overnight. That’s the way to survive in a recession.”

Catholic priest impregnates reverend sister, then this happens

A catholic priest has been sanctioned by the church after he allegedly got a nun pregnant. Following a revelation that he has been sleeping with a reverend sister and that she’s expecting their child, Father Kevin Mthunzi Takaendesa of a parish in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, has been sanctioned. Mountain
View Addressing the issue, the Archbishop of Bulawayo, Father Alex Thomas who was accused of chasing the reverend sister and father Kevin out of the church, said: “Father Kevin was disciplined for impregnating a nun and I have it in writing, but he went to England on holiday which was planned at the beginning of the year. As you know that it’s not easy to walk to England. Disciplinary procedures are there in every field and as a church we’ve a Code of Canon Law which lays down administrative policies. If there is any misconduct we use it to discipline members. I can confirm that he (Father Takaendesa) went to England and came back to Bulawayo. The holiday had nothing to do with impregnating the nun as that is his own personal issue. I understand that a lot has been said about me and other priests but all this needs facts. I never transferred a priest to England after he impregnated a nun and I didn’t chase her away from church. Nuns have their own rules and systems. I don’t have to deal with nuns.” Na wa oo! Things are really happening.

10 ways to keep phones safe from hackers

Mountain
View A 2013 Norton report found that one in three smartphone users had experienced some form of cybercrime. Protecting yourself doesn’t have to be expensive or time-consuming, but you should consider the following 10 steps: 1. When browsing or shopping on your phone (or computer), always look for “https” in the url instead of “http.” That indicates an added level of security, which should always appear before exchanging any private information, like credit card numbers, online. 2. Add a password to your phone. It might be a pain to type a number into your phone each time you want to use it, but losing your phone without that protection could lead to a far greater headache. Given that Norton reports that 25 per cent of smartphone users have had their phone lost or stolen, it’s a smart move. 3. Use a “find your phone tool.” Certain software and apps, including Find My iPhone (and Find My Phone for Android) , make it easy to find your phone if you lose it and help anyone who finds it to connect with you. Some programmes, like Norton Mobile Security, also offer the option of locking and wiping your phone remotely if necessary. 4. Don’t allow automatic connections. Some smartphones are set up to automatically connect with available Wi- Fi networks and Bluetooth devices. Disabling this option will prevent your phone from connecting and transmitting data without you realising it. 5. Treat email and social media requests from strangers suspiciously. Criminals might send friend requests to people they don’t know to gather information about them. While most people will ignore or reject the request, a small portion will accept, and those are the people who criminals target. For example, they can use a seemingly harmless post, like the victim’s photos from a restaurant meal, to then call the victim, impersonate the restaurant and request a credit card number in order to process a refund for an alleged overcharge. 6. Be a savvy shopper. It’s not wrong to shop from your phone, whether by browser or retailer app, but you should be extra careful with vendors you aren’t familiar with, especially if the store initiated contact through an email, text message or social media site. You can always run a Web search on the company first, or visit the Better Business Bureau to check for any complaints. 7. Check privacy settings on apps. Some apps request a lot of information from you, including your location and passwords or access to other apps or your text messages. If they don’t need all of that information (and why would they?), then deny access. 8. Beware of the package tracking scam. If you’re ordering a lot of packages online, you might not be too surprised to receive an email from what looks like a major retailer about a package that it couldn’t deliver. But take a closer look, and you might notice that the email isn’t actually from the domain name of that retailer. It’s a common scam, and typically works by getting the recipient to click on a fraudulent link that then collects personal information. Don’t click on it. 9. Avoid fraudulent Wi-Fi networks. Call it the coffee shop problem: A fraudster sets up a Wi-Fi network that has a similar name to the coffee shop he’s sitting in, but instead of simply providing free Wi-Fi, he’s using the signal to collect information from the people around him who log onto the network. For example, a coffee shop user could use the shared Wi-Fi to log into his or her bank, and the fraudster could potentially access that banking information. 10. Use better passwords. Consumers often reuse the same passwords for multiple sites, which can leave them vulnerable to hacking if one site gets broken into. Some passwords, like ones based on your birthday or mother’s maiden name, are easy to figure out. Anyone with access to your Facebook account, for example, can easily piece together basic family information. There’s no reason to stop leveraging your phone for convenience and productivity, but just be sure to apply a few street smarts first.
